Celebrating its 22nd year in 2012, Parachute Festival is one of the largest multi-day music festivals in the Southern Hemisphere. Featuring 100 bands across 4 stages, the 4-day festival, which draws about 25,000 people per year, has boasted international headliners like Switchfoot, Anberlin, Underoath, and Skillet, as well as the cream of the local crop. Music aside, Parachute Festival features international speakers, village markets, carnival activities and seminars, making it a renowned hotspot on the Kiwi summer radar.
Parachute 2012’s line-up boasts a true musical mish-mash. Representing the internationals are Grammy Award-winning worship band Casting Crowns, Ohio rockers Relient K, Texan pop wunderkind The Rocket Summer, Florida alt-rockers The Almost, Raw Rock ambassadors Showbread, Christian Music forefather Randy Stonehill, Colorado worshippers Desperation Band and Florida four-piece Ascend the Hill.
